You can force Envision to run from the start as Envision Standard by running the command with the -standard argument. Which mode is running is displayed in the header bar of the window. If it finds one it runs as Envision Pro and if it cannot find one it pops up an info message and runs as Envison Standard. When it starts, by default, it will look for an envision_pro license key. The Envision that is shipped within Ansys software packages can run in both Pro and Standard mode. It is only intended for people who do not have an Ansys license that you would like to send 3D Envision results to. For people who do not typically install any Ansys software there is a separate publicly available executable for Envision Standard that requires no licenses and looks for no license and can be downloaded from the Ansys public web site. But sometimes you might want to run in standard mode, either because you do not want to consume and Envision Pro license or because you want to see what users without a license will see when they run Envision. By default, Ansys users with an ensight license will always be running Envision in Pro mode.
